Apple announced the new AI-powered feature Genmoji at the WWDC 2024 conference. This is one of the standout AI features coming to modern iPhones with iOS 18. With Genmoji, users can write text prompts describing the emoji they want, and get that emoji within seconds.
Although iOS offers a vast collection of emojis to choose from, sometimes you need new ones that better express what you want to say.
First: How to Use Genmoji in iOS 18
Genmoji will be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, just like other Apple Intelligence AI features. You can use it after updating to iOS 18, which will be officially released this fall.
Here's how to use Genmoji in iOS 18:
1. Open the Messages app on your phone and start a new message.
2. Begin typing a description of the emoji you want in the text field.
3. A pop-up window for creating a new emoji will appear.
4. A bubble will show that Genmoji is currently creating a new emoji based on your text.
5. After a few seconds, new AI-designed emojis will appear.
6. Browse through the options, and if you like one, press the "Insert" button.
You can create Genmoji for your friends and family using their pictures and use these emojis directly in text messages to express your feelings and thoughts in a fun way. You can also share them as stickers or reaction emojis.
Second: When Will Genmoji Be Released?
While the developer beta of iOS 18 is currently available, Genmoji is not included in this version. According to Apple, Genmoji will be available in the next beta release this summer. It is also expected to be included in the public beta set to be released in July.
However, the final stable version of Genmoji will be available this fall with the official release of iOS 18, which Apple will launch in September alongside the iPhone 16 series.
